About the Petcosky Companies

Founded in 1957 by Paul Petcosky, we have been family-owned and operated since the beginning. What began as a two-man, residential plumbing operation out of Paul's garage has grown and evolved throughout the years.

Within our first 20 years of service to the residents of the Southern Tier, we acquired many master plumber licenses and accreditations. In the 1980s, we added residential heating and cooling services to the company's portfolio.

In 1987, Petcosky & Sons was officially incorporated. With our reputation for exceptional customer service and quality products at an affordable cost, we quickly became the most sought-after residential plumbing and heating contractor in the Southern Tier.

Throughout the years, the company continued to evolve and grow. The Petcosky family continued to expand their service offerings in the areas of commercial plumbing, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), mechanical, and fire protection services.

The Petcosky Fire Division was formed in 2009 to specifically address many of our existing clients' needs in the area of fire sprinkler systems and fire protection systems. This new division has grown year after year and has allowed us to expand our commercial services beyond the Binghamton, NY, region.

Due to further demand for fire protection services, the Petcosky Fire Division was broken off into a separate corporation. In 2016, Petcosky Fire Protection Inc. was created. Since then, Petcosky Fire has grown significantly throughout the Southern Tier.

In 2020, the Petcosky family restructured the company to allow their team the ability to focus exclusively on the needs of commercial customers and the advanced technology required for their commercial plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection needs. This restructuring involved another residential plumbing and heating firm acquiring the Petcosky residential services division.

Since 1957, our mission has evolved from simply replacing your noisy old clunker or solving that leak issue under the sink. We've become experts in new, commercial technology. Today our highly skilled workforce works from a state-of-the-art facility with a fully stocked warehouse and parts department.
