Founded in 1957 by Paul Petcosky, we’ve been family owned and operated since the beginning. What began as a two-man, residential plumbing operation out of his garage has grown throughout the years.
In the 1980s, residential heating and cooling services were added to the company’s portfolio to build on the many master plumber licenses and accreditations acquired over the first 20 years of service to the residents of the Southern Tier.
In 1987, Petcosky & Sons was officially incorporated. With their reputation for exceptional customer service and quality products at an affordable cost, Petcosky & Sons quickly became the most sought-after residential plumbing and heating contractor.
Since 1987, Petcosky & Sons continued to evolve and grow. The Petcosky family continued to expand their service offerings in the areas of commercial plumbing, HVAC (heating and cooling), mechanical, and fire protection services.
In 2007, Justin Petcosky joined the company, representing the third generation to serve our customers.
The Petcosky Fire Division was formed in 2009 to specifically address many of our existing clients’ needs in the area of fire sprinkler systems and fire protection systems. This new division has grown year after year and has allowed us to expand our commercial services beyond the Binghamton, NY region.
Due to further demand of fire protection services, the Petcosky Fire Division was broken off into a separate corporation. In 2016, Petcosky Fire Protection Inc. was created. Since then, Petcosky Fire has grown significantly throughout the Southern Tier.
In 2020, the Petcosky family’s residential services division was acquired by Auchinachie Services. This restructuring was completed to allow our team the ability to focus exclusively on the needs of our commercial customers and the advanced technology required for their commercial plumbing, mechanical, HVAC and fire protection needs.
Since 1957, our mission has evolved from simply replacing your noisy old clunker or solving that leak issue under the sink. We’ve become experts in new, commercial technology. Today our 30+, highly skilled workforce works from a state-of-the-art facility with a fully stocked warehouse and parts department.
